Hello all, would appreciate if anyone using Sierra chart & trading XAUUSD futures share their experience with their Canadian futures brokers. Thank you in advance.

XAUUSD is CFD, not futures, they are traded by "units" not shares.

sorry, my bad. I meant gold futures here. I have been trading gold cfds for 2 years and now want to shift to us gold futures. Trying to identify the right Canadian broker which allows Sierra integration & trade/route orders from sierra charts. I see Sierra doesn't recommend IBKR for technical difficulties hence need to check for anyone using a broker other than IBKR.

Use Teton order routing:

Check with brokers who take Canadian clients. We think brokers that use Ironbeam clearing will take Canadians.

There would not be any broker directly within Canada. They are all going to be US-based.

@User907247,

Unfortunately, the only Futures broker in Canada is IBKR, it is not even a Canadian company, just IBKR's Toronto branch. Technical issue is not the only reason we shouldn't use IBKR, their margin requirements are just outrageous and make no sense.

Most Futures brokers in US accept Canadian customers, if you choose Ironbeam, the clearing firm is actually BMO, not sure if that would make you feel better :)

To make the fund transfer a little bit easier and cheaper, you could ask "Cross Border Service" at TD, they could open a Chequing account in a TD US branch for you.
