You should not be using a VPS and you should control your own solid-state drives completely with ones that you purchase and fully control.

Another thing, is that with a VPS, you are sharing the SSD I/O with other virtual machines.

If you upgrade to a dedicated co-located server, you won't be sharing resources with others, and the disk bandwidth will be all yours.
