The first thing is that if you are connected to the data feed, then you should be getting an error in your Message Log when selecting either of these options that tells you that you need to disconnect from the data feed in order to use either of these commands. If your Message Log is not coming up automatically, then this may be due to your setting it to not display. If not the above, then when selecting either of these options you should get a File Save window to select where to save the file and the name to give it. If you are disconnected from the data feed and not getting this window, then select "Window >> Reset Windows" and then try again. Let us know if you still do not get the File Save window.
