To solve the problem described in post #23, reduce the days to load in the chart: Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Preventing Error Messages by Reducing Days to Load in Chart The starting date requested for an individual futures contract is not relevant to any of the issues. It does not matter in any way. It should not be so far back in time and we will correct that but it definitively does not matter if it is 1900, or 1923, or 1970. It is still one request and our data providers server will only return what it has available. That early date, definitely does not relate in any way to the contract month and year of a futures contract. The request will still be made. To avoid the requests for future symbols, that are not in existence reduce the Days to Load in the chart: Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Preventing Error Messages by Reducing Days to Load in Chart This is a misunderstanding: It takes 30+ seconds per symbol to attempt to request the 1900s data,
The starting date is fully irrelevant. What counts is the number of requests being made, and there should not be any historical data request for expired symbols once they are downloaded once. The starting date of an individual futures contract, does not increase the amount of time at all. It changes it exactly by 0 seconds!
