How much performance could I save by switching to your tool while I'm using a spreadsheet alert system at the moment. Its pretty complex and can get pretty laggy at times.
We've had opportunity to explore this topic recently with one of our users and I have a better answer now: -Octopi tool is a custom compiled study, which by nature (supported by Sierra Chart documentation), runs significantly more efficiently compared to a spreadsheet system. We've now seen examples of both performance and functionality gain that leaves SS system trading in the dust. Examples of both: 1) Backtests using Accurate Replay on a modern PC with Sierra installed on a 4th gen NVME drive goes from power-point-like replay to smooth and expedient as one would expect. No difference in functionality, other than Spreadsheets system processing ONE of the strategy calculations vs Octopi plugin created one. 2) Functionally, I will repeat what the same and much more experienced SS trader that is now working with Octopi told me - there is major functionality upgrade built in to Octopi specifically in the area of post-fill trade process (moving targets,stops, etc management) that is easy to accomplish with Octopi and pretty much impossible with SS system.
