Gold Chart not updating as minute chart, but as daily

Hello Support,

i have a weird issue. i am subscribed to the whole cme suite via sierra chart data, i am even subscribed to real-time cme data on the interactive brokers side, however, when i try to chart it in sierra chart (the [M] actually shows up), i do not get real time data for a minute chart. weirdly though, i do get real time data when i switch the chart to historical and chart it daily.

my 2nd instance uses rithmic as feed and i do not have that issue there.

would appreciate a tip or fix.

We are not certain why you are seeing an issue in one chart but not in another. But we believe the core of the issue is that you are using a Continuous Volume Based contract, but you have the October contract open, when the December contract has much higher volumes. We recommend changing both charts to be the December contract and see if this resolves your issue.

Also, the Session Times you have set for your Intraday chart have the main session times covering 24 hours, but you then have the "Use Evening Session" option enabled. You need to turn off the use of the "Evening Session" given how you have your setup.

Hey John, thank you for this.

with the session times, yes, i was just trying everything i could.

the dec contract fixed it, but shouldnt sierra tell me to roll over if another contract has more volume? it does remind me in cl or es, but didnt seem to bother with the gc. i ha automatic rollover enabled and also set it to volume based rollover, backadjusted.

You will only get notified of the need for a rollover due to Volume if the following option is set to "Yes":
General Settings Window: Detect Rollover Of Current Futures Contracts Symbols Based On Real Time Volume (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Symbol)
