I'm getting a chart with many gaps for the 6M continuous chart with volume based back adjusted rollovers.
Doesn't look correct

What is "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Chart Data Type" set to?

Somewhat similarly, Wednesday April 9th data is missing in ZC continuous chart.

Attached is an image of what we see for an Intraday chart set to a 1 day period. You should have the same look for your chart.

Since you do not, we recommend following the instructions at the following link to redownload the data:
Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Re-Downloading Continuous Futures Contract Data

--

For ZCU25 you would need to do the same thing, but you only need to redownload the particular contract which covers the data for the missing day.

4th time deleting all the 6M data and redownloading, I still get a broken chart.

And now the ZC gap increased from April 8th to April 20th.

I should clarify I am on the Trading Evaluator Delayed service.

Is this in a Sub-Instance by any chance? If so, then open a chart for those products in the main instance make sure they look correct in the main instance. Then redo the download again in the sub-instance.

It is a sub-instance but I have followed these instructions in the main instance Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Re-Downloading Continuous Futures Contract Data

The 6M chart is still broken on the main instance (and the sub-instance too.)

Please do the following for us.
- Exit from Sierra Chart
- Open the Windows File Explorer (the program to view the files on your system).
- Go to the Sierra Chart installation folder on your system (typically C:\SierraChart)
- Go to the "Data" folder under that main Sierra Chart installation folder.
- Find the names named 6M?25.scid (the ? will be each of the contract letters) and remove these files from your system.
- Start Sierra Chart. The data for that chart will redownload. Let us know if it is still incorrect.

I have done that multiple times with the same result.

New findings below:

I am almost certain it is an issue with the Trading Evaluator Delayed

I just tried in a separate virtual machine, both SC Data and Trading Evaluator Delayed.

SC Data chart looked fine. As soon as I switch to Trading Evaluator Delayed, it is again, broken.

I have not checked other services besides these 2.

If you want me to delete the data files yet again, sure.

But I think you will be able to reproduce the 6M issue if you try the Trading Evaluator Delayed service.

Please let me know what you think is the best way to proceed.

Additionally, I see the missing data issue with ZC on both SC Data and Trading Evaluator Delayed.

On SC Data:
After April 8th 2025, next bar is April 20th 2025.

On Trading Evaluator Delayed:
Same gap. After April 8th 2025, next bar is April 20th 2025.
However I have also seen it show April 10th 2025 as the next bar after April 8th 2025.

The gap is not consistent and has sometimes changed as I Delete All Data and Download multiple times.

*There may also be an inconsistency in the gap for SC Data but I have not yet observed it there.

Can you see the broken 6M continuous chart when you use Trading Evaluator Delayed?

I've reproduced it twice on completely separate machines. One which is virtually a fresh installation of Sierra.

Is this being looked at? We didn't specify which service we were using to download data at the beginning of this thread.
I think I've isolated the 6M issue to Trading Evaluator Delayed.

A simple heartbeat response would be appreciated just to know I'm not talking to myself.
I am close to replacing 6M on my watchlist with something else.
But I'd like to know if there is an issue with Sierra's data services, and if so, whether it will be resolved.

We now understand the reason for this problem. In the case of the Mexican peso there are contracts for all 12 months but only four of them are active.

There was a missing setting in the case of the Trading Evaluator symbol settings that we have now added. This specifies just the four major contracts in the year ( March, June, September, December).

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings

After the above, go to the chart and select Chart >> Reload and Recalculate.

Thank you very much 6M is looking good now.

Were you able to reproduce my ZC issue?

The issue with ZC looks like it has two different causes. Apparently there is some missing data on at least one of the servers. We will be resolving that over the weekend.

And there is an issue with a volume-based rollover.

For now use only a Date Based rollover for the ZC continuous contract chart:

Ok noted. Will volume rollover be worked on? It is quite important to me

ZM intraday daily chart also bugging out.
This is the same chart screenshotted within seconds of each other, only Reload and Recalculate clicked between them.

---

While I was typing this, the chart again went from the red bar to the huge green bar you see in the screenshots, I did not touch it at all.

This is on Trading Evaluator Delayed but I have no idea if it is present on other services as well. This is disappointing.

I figure this is the same volume rollover issue.
The current bar has prices resembling ZM December contract while bars before it resemble the August contract.

Is volume rollover being worked on?

Grains markets like ZC and ZM taper off in volume well before the expiry date, so date based rollover is inappropriate for these markets.
