It has been a known issue that the Chat functionality and all of the other related functionality: Chat and Communications Platform Has had an issue when Sierra Chart is run under Wine. You would need to use Wine when using Sierra Chart on Linux, or Crossover on a Mac. The problem is, when you open the chat window, the chat becomes nonresponsive and the whole program becomes nonresponsive. Like there is some kind of deadlock going on. We believe the problem always had to do with the fact that the chat runs on a separate thread. And there is some issue within Wine when another user interface within the program is running on another thread. There is now this option that is coming out in the next release that will be out September 4, 2025: Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> Use Secondary Thread for Chat (Default and Recommended): Yes/No If you are using Wine you will want to set this to No and restart Sierra Chart after. A restart is necessary. Also screen sharing is being redeveloped by us, and is currently disabled. It should be out in about a week.
