I have problems creating a new VbP TC(x) (see pic).
#1 - I already created TC1 a long time ago. No problem...
#2 - Here I created a new profile and saved it as StudyColl “7777 - VbP (DrawnOrange)+”.
#3 - At “VolumeProfileConfig” I wanted to create it as TC3, but I failed at this step. I did not manage to save it as TC3.

Basically, I wanted to create several TC(x ), but failed.

Maybe you can explain the whole process step by step. I have tried to work it out from the descriptions, but in my opinion this process in particular is not described in detail for VbP.

(I hope I have explained it clearly)

Thank you very much

We do not see any issues with this. We will review the documentation and make sure it is up-to-date. One thing we see is that for a particular drawing configuration, it is not possible to select no study collection when one was previously set.

How do I create a TC(x) for the “Draw Volume Profile” tool (and especially for TC1)?

It would be helpful if a separate description were created for the “Draw Volume Profile” (step by step).

Many thanks

Sorry, I'm a little stuck. How do I go about creating a new StudyColl. (e.g., TC3 or TC4)? I set up TC1 and TC2 a long time ago.

Many thanks

To move forward, I managed to create TC(x) using a “trick.” I could live with that, but it wouldn't make sense for the community I support.

Now that this tool is also offered in Package 10, it would be a great help if TC profiles could be saved on an easy way.

Many thanks

Good morning John,
many thanks for the instructions, but I'm stuck at point 15.
Two older configurations are saved in the image, and now a third one is to be added.
I can't manage to load and save the new StudyColl.
I am currently using version 2783.

Many thanks

Keep in mind that the name will only show with the configuration if you type it in in the "Tool Configuration Name" field on the "SaveConfig" tab. You must have done that for the first two, but perhaps not done it for the third.

Otherwise, there should not be any issues with saving and recalling the tool configurations. We just checked version 2783 and it is working properly for us. But, if you are using the "Tool Configuration (List)" item on the "SaveConfig" tab, then you need to ensure that you are selecting the "Load" and "Save" buttons in order to load and save the selected configuration. If you do not select these buttons when changing between the configurations, then you may not be viewing the configuration you think you are.

Hi John, I'm sorry but I have to come back to this again, as I'm unable to create a profile (TC "x").

I downloaded and installed a “fresh” version of your homepage (version: 89) especially for this purpose.
Then I created a VbP StudyColl. It is also displayed in Analysis (all see pic)
Then I went to “DrawVolProfileConfig.” This is where the problems start.
The StudyColl is displayed in the “Chart Study Collection (List)” line.
But then there is no way of loading/saving it. All lines are empty.

John, what am I doing wrong? Maybe you can explain it to me step by step what I need to do to create TC“x.”

Thank you very much.

On the "Tool Configuration" window, the best thing to do is to select the configuration number you want to setup and load that number. By default, the configuration window is set to configuration 1. If you want to setup Configuration 5, then you should select "TC5" in the "Tool Configuration" selection on the "SaveConfig" tab and then select the "Load" button.

Then select the Study Collection that you created for the Volume by Price profile in the "Chart Study Collection" entry on the "Settings" Tab and then go back to the "SaveConfig" tab and select the "Save" button.

This ensures that you are saving to the correct configuration that you want to setup. The quick select buttons for the different configurations can be used, but you have to be a bit more careful, as it will save the existing configuration and load the new one. This can be confusing, so we recommend using the process we give above.

We are not sure what you mean by "all lines are empty".

John, thank you for your description, but I can't implement it.

In the pic, you can see (highlighted in blue) an old StudyColl, which I have already saved as TC1 for over three years.
Now I am desperately trying to create the new StudyColl - highlighted in yellow - as TC5. No chance. I really don't understand the logic.

I opened the new StudyColl in the “Settings” tab. Then I switched to the “Save Config” tab and tried to open it in the “Tool Configuration (List)” line. Only TC1 is displayed.
I clicked the “Load” button. Nothing...
TC5 button... nothing...
I don't see any way to open and save the newly created StudyColl.

I have already created many StudyConfig and Drawing (Tool)Config files. Never had any problems. Only here with the Volume Profile Config (only after the big changeover)

John, do I use the right Tool Config or where is my mistake? John, maybe could you create a new StudyColl and save it as TC“x”?
I really feel like it's not working.

Many many thanks

Please do the following:
- Open the "Draw Volume Profile Config" window.
- Select the "SaveConfig" tab.
- Select "TC5" from the "Tool Configuration (List)" selection towards the bottom.
- Select the "[Load]" button.
- Select the "Settings" tab.
- Select the desired Study Collection in the "Chart Study Collection (List)" selection at the top of that window.
- Select the "SaveConfig" tab.
- Select the "[Save]" button.

That is all you should have to do. If something is not working, then let us know what step is failing and how it is failing.

Hi John, please take a look at the pic. I followed your instructions step by step— thank you very much for that — but unfortunately I was unable to save as TC5.

The StudyColl. is recognized in the tab “Settings”/Chart Study Collection (List), but not in the tab ‘SaveConfig’(from my point of view). The StudyColl. will not be recognized in every single line, so that it is impossible to create a TC“x”.

On the far right of the pic, you can see that the "TC" list is completely empty, even though I loaded and saved it according to your instructions.

The process for “Draw VbP Config” differs greatly from the others...

We do not understand this statement: "but not in the tab ‘SaveConfig’(from my point of view). The StudyColl. will not be recognized in every single line, so that it is impossible to create a TC“x”."

The "SaveConfig" tab does not show the "Chart Study Collection (List)", but it is saving the configuration as you have defined it on the "Settings" tab.

What exactly are you doing/seeing after you go through the process we gave you?

If you are expecting some kind of notation after the TC5, then there is none - it will just say "TC5", even though a study collection is associated with it. If you want to view some kind of informative notation with the TC5, then you would need to enter something in the "Tool Configuration Name".

Many thanks John.

The decisive clue was “Tool Config Name.” I had always assumed that a notation would appear and therefore always assumed that it didn't work.
From my point of view, the handling — only here — is not really easy...

Please excuse the confusion.
