Hello,

Since this morning, I have been experiencing a serious issue with corrupted stocks chartbook. This problem occurs on both SC instances I have saved on my PC. The problem seems to be limited only to the chartbook containing the stocks; the other chartbooks related to futures (which, moreover, also contain identical studies) appear to be working normally.

Here’s what happens: after saving and closing the platform correctly, when I reopen my stock chartbook, the Alert Manager window appears, reporting — for some studies on certain tickers (specifically the up/down volume divergence I set through an Alert Condition) — a formula error that, in reality, does not exist, because before closing the platform everything was working normally.

After that, when I open the chart, the following occurs:

1) A large part of the charts within the saved chartbook are missing.

2) Instead of the ones I saved, other charts (other Tickers) appear.

3) All charts are renamed with a different name from the one I set (for example, the chart named “NVDA” becomes “NVDA (CBV-D)”).

4) The studies I had set are gone, except for the divergence-related ones, and another study that I did not insert appears.

5) The price is no longer displayed: the price scale on the right is empty, and the text “nan” appears at the top. If I try to adjust the scale, nothing happens; if I reset the scale, only whole numbers appear, and no candlesticks are displayed.

as I no longer know what to do.

I would like to avoid having to go through the trouble of rebuilding my entire chartbook from scratch.
Thanks in advance

1) A large part of the charts within the saved chartbook are missing.
Usually an issue like this would be relating to running out of Windows operating system resources. How many charts are within the Chartbook?

Check the Window >> Message Log for errors when opening the Chartbook.

2) Instead of the ones I saved, other charts (other Tickers) appear.
Check this Menu setting, in relation to the charts that should not be appearing:
Window, CB and CW Menus: Window Always Visible (Window)

To resolve this,:

3) All charts are renamed with a different name from the one I set (for example, the chart named “NVDA” becomes “NVDA (CBV-D)”).

Set this to None:
Chart Settings: Continuous Contract (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)

For the scale issue, refer to:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Chart Bars or Studies Not Completely within View, Not Displayed, or Cut Off. Reset Scales.

There are backup Chartbooks available:

The settings were already correct as per your instructions, and I had already tried using “reset scale” without any results.
I had also forgotten to mention that all the timeframes had been converted to 1 millisecond (!)

The good news is that I didn’t know about the backup folder, and that actually worked.
I was able to recover the chartbook, open it without any errors, and save it under a different name.
So everything is resolved, with the recovery of the backup chartbook.
Thank you

Okay this is good. It does sound as though there was some type of corruption which would be very rare.
